Using ITIL Framework for Mental Health
Whether you're part of a large organisation or a #dept-of-one, being a Mac Admin comes with its own unique set of mental health challenges. Mental health can be one of those things that feel too embarrassing to talk about, or too touchy feely to work on yourself. This talk will help you identify the toolkit you already have to tackle mental health incidents, and establish a framework of continuous improvement for your noggin. This is not a self help seminar, there will be no definitive answers offered, but you will hear war stories from someone who has had their fair share of major mental health incidents.
About the presenter
Peter Wells is a former columnist for The Age and current Apple Admin at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Peter has spoken at Xworld, DevWorld and CreateWorld, occasionally coherently.
Interview
We asked Marcus a few questions about where Apple's heading and what he's working on.
What are you most excited about in Apple's upcoming OS releases?
I'm pretty excited for the new Siri tbh, and looking forward to being disappointed again.
Is there new hardware you're hoping Apple ships?
Apple has introduced some fantastic low-end products in recent years, I'd love to see that continue into the home, so I'd love to see an Apple TV Firestick or HomePod Nano.
The rise of AI: excited, scared, intrigued, or something else?
All of the above. I'd feel more positive about AI if it weren't being shaped and shipped by the worst people on earth.
What do you wish you'd known when you started building admin tools for Apple platforms?
We're all just fumbling along

...you've ever suffered imposter syndrome, had an anxiety attack, or found yourself in a deep depression.
